We’ve been enjoying the crispy cold days and paying attention to the changes in our beautiful surroundings. Here are some of the activities we love to do during these cold winter months, here at Our Place Group.
Feeding the Birds
We’re lucky to be surrounded by nature, and with nature come the birds. It’s important to help our feathered friends throughout the year, but perhaps even more so during January. By feeding birds, we’re able to do a bit of bird watching to learn more about the birds in our neighbourhood and listen to their beautiful songs.
Making Winter Art
Walking along the paths in the local woods gives us plenty of opportunity to collect natural items to use in collages. You can do this too, just head on out into the fresh air and pick up:
- Leaves
- Twigs
- Seeds
- Pine Cones
It’s amazing how many differently shaped leaves you can find. Dry them out and then see what beautiful art collages or nature trays you can create with your findings.
How do you make the most of the colder months? Come and tell us over on our Facebook page.
