Christmas is a Time for Giving

We’ve been getting into the festive spirit here at Our Place Group. If you follow our social media, you’ll know we’ve recently had a few fun days with Dress Like an Elf Day and more recently, Christmas Jumper Day.

Christmas Jumper Day is not just about wearing your warm, festive tops for a single day. It’s actually a fundraiser that has been organised by Save the Children. This year, we decided to take part and raise money for the amazing cause. The day involves everyone putting on their favourite Christmas jumper and donating £1 to Save the Children. We’re not the only school to take part, nurseries, youth groups and businesses also do the same. With every donation, the money raised goes up and up!

Our children at The Orchard and Our Place School had a great time, here’s some of their artwork from the day!

Where Does the Money Go?

Save the Children use the money raised to help children see the magic in the world again. There are some really incredible stories that can be read over on the Save the Children website. We recommend heading over there to discover just a few of the lives that have been positively affected by the work they do.

Collecting for the Local Food Bank

That’s not all we’ve been up to. Throughout December, we have been collecting for our local Food Bank. Our donations will be delivered to the Food Bank and used in the food parcels that can make such a huge difference to families and individuals in our local area.

We’d like to thank everyone who has taken part in our December fundraising and collections. It really is a magical time of year and we do hope you’re enjoying learning all about what we’re getting up to.
