Friday, 18 November the Our Place Group team took part in Children in Need. Children in Need is an annual charity night that we are always happy to get behind and support. So far, over £35m has been raised, which is slightly less than last year, but there’s still money coming in and being counted.
The appeal has come a long way from the five-minute radio broadcast that took place on Christmas Day in 1927. The first television appeal took place in 1955. Each year members of the public get fully behind the cause, working hard to produce fun ways to raise funds. This year, the Our Place Group family dressed up as Pudsey Bear, the official mascot of Children in Need.
The television appeal was hosted by Jason Manford, Ade Adepitan, Chris Ramsey and Alex Scott. Many celebrities got involved, including Joe Wicks, who raised over £500,000 by walking a 30-mile ultra-marathon.
The public were thanked for continuing to raise money for the appeal, despite the challenging times that each and everyone is facing. A tough winter lies ahead, but this hasn’t stopped the generosity. Thank you to everyone in the Our Place Group family for your support.
